Part 2 of the duet poem I wrote with my friend Just Patty! This is probably going to break the record of longest duet poem on WordPress lol! So brace yourself my friends! 😉

The Beautiful, the Bad and the Psychotic

Part 2

Alex & Just Patty

I’m losing my train of thought,

I’m coming off the tracks,

My contaminating cause is lost,

When everything is turned to black,

But with the lights out, it’s less dangerous,

And with this god-like power of poetry,

I find out that we’re all brainless,

Poverty and loneliness, I can’t contain this,

My emotions now are purely naked,

My life is utterly shambolic and shameless.

Type over the moon and scribble out these stars,

Will write for food, can’t you see my rib bars?

I’m filling up on philosophical words,

Scoffing all this hurt; turn the oven up, the heat helps,

If lovers come they get burnt,

My words are the corruptors of worlds,

I’ll have you stuck in reverse,

A wondrously strung verse,

Understood, it’s understandably coheres,

My meaning means nothing if it’s not forced head first.

See through my eye of the blackest storm,

Can you hear that barking guard-dog?

I’m coming at you all as a dark horse or a shark with killer claws,

Putting your smiles to bed until your laughs lost,

Sanity, it won’t last long, so back off,

I have hacksaws, gasoline and a matchbox.

No light lives here,

Born to fight or disappear,

Wishing you were here,

Where history belittles me,

Cities sights within me,

Now I’m in open flight over the sides I fly,

Downwards I drive; gentle gravity has little interest in me.

The road to your destination

Is one hell of a bumpy ride

Keep pushing forward without hesitation

Even in the most darkest nights

The moon will guide your path

And the stars will lead the way

I find out that we aren’t all heartless

Love and kindness, you can do this

Your emotions are raw and defined

Your life is still a blank canvas

Paint a lullaby and travel a thousand journeys

Feed of courage, can you see the opportunities?

I’m dazzling with endless determination

Stop the bleeding, heal the bruises, the cold helps

Love will heal what words can’t

My letters are the center of reflection

I’ll get you in first gear

A verse written so sincere

Understanding can melt an iron heart

Love glues together whatever broke apart

See the road appear throughout the fog

Can you hear the serene calling?

Tame that wild horse, or let it break free

Sanity is overrated, creativity takes its toll

Fire can be put out with water, so go ahead

In the dark you can still fight

Even tell wrong from right

Where history lies behind me

The future is calling for me

So spread those wings and set yourself free

Even if it means living a life on the edge of sanity…

Now hit that like button…. Alex

  2. As I stated on Just Patty’s blog, both parts are epic in wordplay and flow. You two have a great writing chemistry. Looking forward to another collab from you two.
