About The Fiction Writer & Psychopath – Alex Kennedy

At the moment, I am not represented by an agency.

First-off I would like to thank you for stopping by…

I write because words are all I have; I’ll out-rightly out write you because you write what is rightly right!

My name is Alexander Kennedy, I am 26 years old and live here in Kingston Upon Hull – England. As a young “Mental Challenged” teen I quickly developed a love for rhyming words (Aspirations of becoming a white rapper/ poet.) But I didn’t know it was the love for the shock of words I loved.
But after a few years on the poet scene I found out the words I used were no longer filling that void within me. I needed a challenge while I was attending a mental health hospital for delusions, unable to tell the difference between reality and dreams, walking around and having terrors form right before his eyes, all the while trying to keep my “Normal life” held together. I found a way out in Short stories and Screenplays. I generated myself as a novice pen-man. But as I marched my way through the writing scene, the words I was using did not have the same effect on me, so thus a novel was needed for his void. Taking all of the distorted images of people and events within my life, I create some of the weirdest and dark toned stories.
To keep my void filled I must still tackle all of my writing on a weekly or daily basis to ensure my pen doesn’t get lazy.

“I have been to hell when I was boy, when I arose from the fires I became a man; now, living out my life as an act to fit in to a place I can never truly be part of, so I write worlds I remember to entertain you from the darkness that raised me.” – “Psycho-Speak” Alex Kennedy.

(YOU STEAL OUR MATERIAL, MY LAWYER WILL HUNT YOU DOWN! …May I just point out some of my earlier stories, from years prior, are from when I was mentally ill and on meds, so there maybe some spelling mistakes and weird twists. No I will not change them! They remind me of a time when I was less than myself now. But as I have grown, so has my work and spell-checking. Thank you.)

HAVE YOUR SAY AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK! Thanks for reading.

Pages of madness I write and sleep with upon my bedroom walls.

  1. Your transition from poetry to short stories/screenplays makes sense. If what we write isn’t fulfilling, it is time to explore. Here’s to keeping the pen busy (and creative)!

  6. I envy your poetry background–it makes for very creative style of writing short stories and novels. Do some comparison checking between YA/Middle Grade/Adult short story needs, opportunities, requirements. There have been some surprising shifts that you might find interesting and encouraging.

  7. Hello my friends. I am Alex, I am not the man behind the blog who uploads and replies to your comments; Stephen is his name. I am thankful for all of your kind words, it warms my cold heart that people from many backgrounds and far away countries like my work; I know they’re not large pieces of work but I keep my novels and screenplays close to my heart. I started this blog after hearing that Short Stories and Flash Fiction were a dying art, so I thought I would reignite the art form like a phoenix from the ashes. Prepare yourselves for a new form of writer and new writing styles within my new pieces of work.

    Keep your pens busy….

  17. Hello my sane friends and not-so-sane friends. My blog seems to have exploded since last I came online. I have another ten stories on the way, finished plotting them out, now started to write them for your eager eyes.

Suggest your writing friends and other blog I could connect with.

I have found out from commenters I should write my own story, so I shall. It will be painful to regurgitate past memories, but for my readers I will peer back into hell. No biggie’!

    Stay tuned for something more.
Oh… P.S. I am not stopping and will never give up.
Thank you for following, I will try my hardest to be online for you.

    • Do you ever feel like when you haven’t written in a few days you feel lazy? I always get that, then I knuckle down and perhaps bash out ten pages of random work I will never see again, some is really disturbing and others I post on here.

The pleasure is all mine, Jo. Love ya!

  38. I wish I had dreams to share and stories to tell.

    • Maybe you can, I refuse to believe that a woman of your stature and of a quick paced mind for pop-culture couldn’t. We all have a dream to share and a story to tell, all you have to do is pick-up a pen and start; and as soon as you have begun, you are half way finished.
Let me know if you change your mind and would like some tips on where to point your imagination, Sue.

      Keep your pen busy….

      Alex.

  39. Hi Alex – thanks for the follow. Enjoying your blog – writing is an excellent way of dealing with a crowded mind. Fiction must be on the psychotic scale – how else can we explain the numbers of complex characters who break free from us and live on the page? I think it’s very healthy to let our imaginative characters out of the subconscious and live their lives, especially in crime fiction – very cathartic to explore our dark sides. Fun, too. Aren’t we lucky?

  40. Hi Alex. Thanks for visiting and following my blog. Sounds like you’ve had a challenging life thus far, and that writing has been a source of strength for you as you return to yourself. I think many writers can relate to that, not only those who have suffered from mental illness.

I think it’s brave of you to discuss what you went through in that regard. It plays a role in helping lift the stigma of mental illness, and also shows that those who have suffered can go on to do great things just like everybody else.

    • I shall tell Alex that you loved his bedroom walls, when he returns from the asylum, he has had a small relapse but will be fine. He would probably want me to tell you. “Use you words as wallpaper, cool people do it.” He speaks like that. And do keep your pen busy, all of us here would love to read more of your work.
